Hi In the other post we were talking about what kind of discrimination there is in your country. But what do you think we could do about it? Or what are you doing against it?
Just thought it might be interesting to talk about the solution as well.

Promote mutual respect, mutual interdependence and instill a spirit of brotherhood in your society. Most of all, check your own prejudices and work towards removing them.Set a positive example for others.Be the change!

Yes right! We should be a role model for others.Instead of waiting for others to do something or make a change. We should take initiative ourselves.

I feel that the beliefs, traditions and customs that perpetuate and promote discrimination, must be questioned, debated and eventually done away with. Also, children must be taught to respect others irrespective of all differences. Before discriminating against others, we should first put ourselves in their shoes and imagine how it feels to be discriminated. We should stop following the society's traditions blindly and ask ourselves whether the step we're going to contemplate is right or wrong.

Discrimination happens everywhere, specially in places like canada / US/ Australia/ UK where there are many immigrants. The immigrants are discriminated against because they are different but at times they refuse to change even a little bit to fit in, which can pose a serious problem.. However, you're right. Children should be taught that we are classified in a race of human beings first, then in races that we originate from and that we're all people and that skin colour and language or anthing else that sets people different is just on the outside.. Or something..

First and foremost, do not participate in activities that gear towards discrimination. Do not attempt to change people, just educate them or share your knowledge to them. Respect each other's differences. Do not force someone to believe in what you believe in. Be open to different possibilities. We do not understand a person, a culture, a religion, a race completely therefore we are in no position to judge them.

I agree with every word of yours hekatea.Absolutely right and very well put.If only everyone realised this and applied it in real life...the world would be a better place. Anyhow, another karma for you!
