The same thing happened with a dude on Seinfield, insulting a African-American on a comedy show.. It's utter hatred!

People should just be open about the discrimination because most people have been throuh it.

yes, I heard about discrimination on the big brother and on a comedy show a star in seinfield. although we are in the 21th cen. but still such things are being`done. and then if they apolegied then what that will do, I think they should THINK before doing such a thing like that.

That is the problem.People do not think before they act.I think discriminating against others is firmly ingrained in our psyche given the kind of social structures we live in.What to do if the society, media & families socialise a person to behave like that??

yes, it is indeed sad! but it is actually not that hard to change... educate the parents and make them understand the truth about deversity. make them read AA's AZAZING article and then they'd teach their kids to be open towards diversity! ;D

Hey!Thank you so much girls! But my article or a thousand such writings and speeches by people, haven't been able to make any difference.People are somewhat predisposed to discriminating. They might like what you wrote or said, they might even agree with your views. But at the end of the day, they are unable to shake themselves out of their mode of bigotry. Thanks to our forefathers (& mothers! ) in the past who started this unhealthy & dangerous trend.Discrimination & hatred will not assert superiority of one's class, gender, nationality etc., it will only dig graves for people - both who discriminate & who're discriminated...

well, it is true what you said AA, we need to change the society so that the people living together would realize that discrimination is so narrow minded and all people should stop doing it right way! some of the solutions that I can think of is that people shud live in places that have variety of races, nationalities, and so on so that they wud be able to learn about other's lives and have friends from different back grounds! and work with them. make ur mind think that colours and such super ficial things we have to raise ourselves above and they don't represent the person neither do they speak for him/her!! ;D

When I see these riots & violence everywhere, I sometimes feel that the diversity of India is its biggest weakness and almost a bane. You feel so hopeless and dejected at times... This bloodshed and mudslinging makes me feel that it would have been better, had people from different religions & castes lived separately. What to do?Everyone here, wants to assert their own superiority. What they don't realise, is that you may be superior, but this doesn't mean that the other one is inferior. People need to be educated and socialised to be more open and respect others' differences.Parents, family members, teachers and the media - all are at fault for bringing up generations of narrow-minded people. Like I said, the entire issue has been here, simply because of some narrow-minded, fascist bigots in the past.Sometimes, I wish I could go back in time and reverse all the damage. But I know that's not possible. We have to pay for the mistakes of our ancestors...

It is the same in Iraq. Now, as you can see that different sects are fighting together and Iraq has been the land for people from different back grounds and have been living together peacefully but now look at where we are?! it is so sad.... but let us hope we would be able to change something and at least give our best and try to show people the true reason(s) there is so many diferences between humans.

Very interesting that this world is coming be one community, so I dear not see people as nobody inspite of religion age, gender ethenisity/tribe rather I mix up to understanding their own view of life for me to aquire more knowledge than discriminating that will make me feel fool and isolated.
