This idea came to me last year on VOY and I became a vegge for a whole week... it was such a fun experince and nice for a change! what do you think about making an official week for YFCI that all of us -who want to- be vegetarians and tell here how we're facing it! It would be great fun! tell me what do you think? so that we can set up the date and tell our members about it!

well I've been thinking about that for a while it could be interesting it won't be very different for me as I don't eat a lot of meat (I just don't really like most of it) but some things will be hard to not eat.. How veggie are you thinking about? Just no meat or other stuff to like gelantine or however you spell it (it's in candy) Maybe we could do a report about it or something write down our experiences??

well, what I was thinking is that if we all agreed we could decide and spicify a week to do that! and I have some infos on how to be a vegge in easy ways... like we still can eat dairy products/ animal products! I can tell u more about it once we decide! we can like be a vegge who doesn't eat meat but eats dairy products cuz u know there r different ways 2 be a vegge and we can just not eat meat and food that has animal parts in it, like animals were killed 4 us 2 eat! so what u think?

hey thanks! well, I ate what I usually eat but u see like if there was meat I would take it out and like give it to my mom or dad! at resturants its so easy cuz u can just ask for a vegge meal! I ate loads of maccaroni.. YUM! and salads, soups and rice! at the end it felt so HEALTHY and I felt like I was doing something! we cud make it an annual thing! say what? I mean we can at least try our bests to remain vegges 4 a week!

This is really interisting topic for me. I am lakto-ovo-vegetarian for maybe 8 years. I know it is not so long and I know I still eat meals from milk and eggs but be for week vegetarian and eat only vegetables could be so cool. I many times thought about be vegetarian for all time but it could be so hard. But if there will be one week I will be in. I can be without meat all time so why not week without milk and eggs.

I tried being vegetarian for six months! I loved it. It's just that when you live with your family who are not vegetarians or if you live in a country where people are mostly non-vegetarians, it's difficult. I try to limit my meat with white meat or seafood Thailand taught me that I could live without meat. Anyway, the protein that we get from red meat can be taken from soya.

hekatea I understand you very well. When I started to be my friends looked on me like if I am crazy and my parents was so worried about me. But after few years friends started tolerate and parents help. So now they cook special for me. And you shouldn't think much about proteins. I didn't eat any kind of meat for 8 years and I feel really fit. Much better then before. And my blood tests are perfect. When you eat eggs and milk and meals from soya you have not reason to be scared. And for me is so nice to see how many young ppl in my country start to be vegetarians. You know there is so many reasons why do it but for me are most important 2 of them. 1) it is good for my healt, 2) for one 1 kg of meat you need 16 kg of grain. In time when so many ppl suffer because they have not anyhing to eat, it is for me so important reason. So dont be scared from that because if you really want to do it you can.

hey thanks all of u for ur ideas!! and u know I agree with Anti, we shudnt be scared cuz u see it's just one week so no worries on ur health guys! I tried and everything went gr8! so I guess lets just agree on a date, lets just get Zach and Jenny bak from their trips and then we can discuss the time we'll do this! and we'll inform our members....

count me in too! I do not eat lots of meat anyways.... I have this feeling when I look at red meat sometimes that I wud get Creutzfeld Jacob's from it sum day * fblaprez just try to think this way when u look at meats and the charm wud go offffffff , guaranteed* but I do eat a tiny bit every decade or so

I'm glad there r alota ppl willing to participate in this! ok all we gotta do now is set a date, which week will we do this? I think a week in August wud be gr8 since I'll be bak 2 Nizwa and its easier to be a veggie from there.. cuz here we just order stuff and its hard 2 avoid meat! but in the meanwhile lets dig up infos on types of veggies and shud we all follow the same type or everyone wud choose what they wanna be? I think the latter seems better!!

^^ that is what I already do, I don't eat meat a lot I don't really like meat but for me Lacto-ovo would be best..
