I think we should have a discussion about Youth Rights and Responsibilities. Here are some questions:
Voting Should youth be able to vote? What age should we get the right?
Elected Office Should youth be able to run for office? What age should we get the right?
Smoking and Alchohol Should the age limit stay the same? Should we change it?
Thanks, and let's get this discussion rolling!

I think voting should be from 18 as it is... and being elected... well, they can run for office.. but at a certain age.. and not everyone... and about drugs and alchohol... yes the age should be the same as it is.. and why change it? I see no use of changing the age limit.. thats what I think;D

I think that the youth being elected is a rily good thing and it doesn't have to be based on the age. it can be based on how well open-minded the youth is and so on,,, but about the age limit of the drugs I dun think changing it wud do much, I mean not many r caring on that age limit and many r smoking without being caught by the law, maybe more strict laws cud be forced, to just control the smoking issues... and lastly about voting, well 18 is just fine I guess. I mean sum1 has 2 b mature enough to know which is the right person/party 2 vote for, but again be the age 18 or 16 as an example, do u think it wud change much? but again two years can certainly make a person more mature. so 18 is alright!

Drugs and Alcholol - Drugs (as in Pot, Opium etc.) aren't allowed anyways (for any age), and their bad. When it comes to alcohol, I don't know.

Ans.2 - Youth should definitely be able to run for elected office. But we should have qualified, serious and committed individuals in the running. The right age should be starting from 18.Youth interested in running for elected offices, should be given proper training and assistance as well. Ans.3 - As far as smoking & alcohol are concerned, no person from any age-group should indulge in them. But present age - limits are okay, though they vary across different countries. What's the age limit in the US?

Here in the US, you can drink at 21 and BUY cigarrets at 18. I think I have that right.
There is no law against youth smoking in the US, just buying.

Voting Should youth be able to vote? What age should we get the right?
I think that we all should be able to vote because we as citizen of the U.S have a voice that need to be heard which is really important especially in my community. That is we have youth boards and council to advise are elected officials of what we see the problem is and how we feel the best way to solve the issues. I feel that the age should be around 14-15 to begin.
Elected Office Should youth be able to run for office? What age should we get the right?
yes in a way I do think so and my opinion is the age should be 16 and there should be requirements to who runs because we want to make sure they have a understanding of the government and what is required of them.
Smoking and Alchohol Should the age limit stay the same? Should we change it?
I think that the age should be should be increased because people at the age of 21 really don't know what to do with liquor and how to use it appropriately look at some of the story you here about college students because they over drink, they fall out windows or die.

well in the US they did ban alcohol in 1920 but it didn't do much good because people were doing it illegaly (Al Capone) a ban won't stop them and then criminals like Al Capone can take advantage of people.. I think with alcohol the biggest thread is when young people drink and their parents don't know and can't control it, a drink occasionaly doesn't hurt but when it isn't controlled by someone it'll expand to something dangerous In my country the legal age of drinking alcohol is 16 and 18 for the more severe alcohol like scotch and such.. I do drink alcohol sometimes as I'm 17 but not huge amounts of alcohol or anything I just drink a beer sometimes at parties or stuff but I never have gotten drunk or anything don't see the point of that either I know my limit unfortunately a lot of people don't(or chose not to know it) and that's when it gets dangerous... Well smoking is always dangerous I don't see the point in smoking by the way it smells really bad, you damage your health I think it's actually the same thing as burning your money (got the same thing with fireworks by the way but that's off topic).. about the voting I think that the minimum should be 16.. I think that elected office should be 18 but a lot of people are to opinionated to give youth a real chance in governement..
