I wanna talk about Saddam Husain's trail that's goin' on coz I wanna tell u about things that he had done and to know what do u think about it... the current issue now is "Al Anfal"... it's about killing Kurds in one of the most inhuman ways: they were killed by rockets that contained special chemicals that burned ppl and burned the land and the planets, trees and now in those villages where this had happened, trees and planets don't grow any more coz of the chemical stuff that is left there and it is in the soil.... I wanna hear what u all have to say about this...
Mod Edit : Since the Saddam Trial is over and he is dead, the title has been changed to : Saddam's Death - What Now?

OK, well my opinion is Saddam is a horrible person, but is human and SHOULD NOT be put for the death penalty. I also think he should be judged fairly with a democratic trial, and with a jury with all cultures represented. I mean all the places that he is accused to have done something. I don't believe in the death penalty, and Saddam deserves a fair trial. He should get, though, a life-sentence in a maximum security prison in Iraq and not governed by the USA or Allies.
Good Thread Darkme!

well he is getting a fair trail he has a lawyer and a fair judge and the judge now isn't kurdish but the judge that was before this one was kurdish and I think they changed him coz he was kurdish and they put some1 who isn't so that the case wouldn't be personal and personal feelings would interfere his judging... in Saddam's case death penalty is so NOT ENOUGH, I don't know if I would call Saddam a HUMAN coz of all the horrible things that he did.

So are you saying he should get the death penalty?

I'm not saying that he should get anything, I am not in a position where I can say what is the right punishment for him, I'll leave that to the judge but what I'm saying is a life sentence is just not enought for such a man. let's just hope he gets what he deserves -which I don't know what that will be-

yesterday Saddam was kicked out of court room, wat do u think? was the judge right in doing this? was Saddam going way 2 far and not being respectful 2 the court? my opinion: the judge was 100% right, sum1 needs 2 stop Saddam and not 2 give him more than he deserves, wat happened 2 speaking when u're allowed 2? why does he speak ridiculous stuff saying this court isn't legal and hez still the ruler of Iraq when not allowed 2 speak? he OBVIOUSLY doesn't respect the court and he just wanna send a msg 2 his followers that he'll cum back, and here goes a BIG -AS IF-

aha, but if they put him in jail 4 a life sentence then wats the point? it wudn't do anything 2 him, he'll just live in jail as if he didn't do anything, but if he gets a death penalty then Iraqi ppl wud b SO relieved, he wud b GONE and therez no chance in him taking over again coz now the situation in Iraq is kinda not settled,,,,,, and the same thing goes 4 terrorists: they shud get a death penalty so that when other terrorists c wat those got, meyb they'll think twice b4 commiting any crime and mayb even stop....

Well. saddam has commited MANY attrocities and is a horrid person but nobody should be killed for a crime, killing is killing even if it is because of a crime, why do that when you could let him rot in prison, a fate much worse for someone like him

well i think the new judge is the best ever... ;D he did wat he shud have done and didn't let Saddam do a speech so all of his followers listen and he'll send them msgs by that speech... HE KICKED HIM OUT... coz other judges sumtimes wud let Saddam do his everyday speech which goes like this: "all of the Iraqis, have patience. I'll b back" like thats gonna happen!!!!

u livd thre and thats why u should consider that the minimum quality of saddam is tht he is an iraqi.evn isnt it better to have the same situation with the man of the state than with the outside people? how can the situation be the same when the war has already been there!!!!! do u wanna say tht a post-war situation and a situation with NO WAR r the SAME?!!!!!!!!
