I am a member of KURAME, the young adults volunteering program of EsSalud here in Peru. EsSalud is the Peruvian social insurance program and works in many of the hospitals in Peru. Right now, the Kurame program only works in 11 hospitals. I am currently volunteering at Rebagliati hospital and was promoted to coordinator of the "Support Group" on January, as I had been a volunteer since October. However, I will resign soon for personal issues and work as a volunteer only again. Kurame is a great program as it allows you to work with people from all age ranges and conditions . You may like to work with kids, or promote healthy living, or share your time with adults and seniors, etc. You can do all that! We even organize special events. For instance, I dressed as a TREE for "Yunsa day" in February (a Peruvian celebration). Here's my picture: That's just a big LOL! If you know anyone from Peru that is younger than 30, ask him or her to join Kurame, maybe contact me . It's a great opportunity to help others!
