Obama's Inauguration and all that preceded has caused a major exception for ABC4All which until now has (by definition) been a-everything, areligious, apolitical, etc. But when Obama declared "WE ARE ONE" in one fell swoop he has potentially united the world which is entirely consistent with the thrust of ABC4All as we engage also in TheShift along with so many other groups throughout the world: ABC4All.net/dance.htm Thus after his being named President-Elect, the result? ABC4All.net/wearetheones.htm We responded to Obama's call and hosted a Service Day Event that has been recorded among the documents posted at Water4All projects.tigweb.org/water4all As the days approached for Inauguration Day it became incumbent upon ABC4All to take up Obama's call that each one of us has a potential responsibility to make this world right again. Thus to this end, "MESSAGE to OBAMERICA and to a New wOrld" becomes the front page of ABC4All: ABC4All.net Then we added excerpts from his Inaugural Address which give us all direction totally consonant with the objectives of ABC4All, along with a quote from one source that likens Obama to be "genuinely" President "of the world." Respectfully, Burton Danet, Ph.D. Co-Founder, ABC4All ABC4All.net

My vote for president Obama is making an obvious difference right now. The man is changing America.s method of opperation. One example is his new rule for lobbyist to stand out of the way.
I watched McCain come to Obama's side and support Hillary Clinton...Obama makes friends from opposite sides. The world will be getting a healthier environment and science will have a new day!!

WEll, I think the change will be there for sure, and hopefully for the better, The world's watching Obama and what he'll do! And the speech he did was really good, specially when he said: "we'll leave Iraq in a responsible way, and we'll leave it to its people" we've read in the newspaper that the person who wrote the speech's 27 and therefore he is the youngest person to write a speech to an American President, however Obama was very successful in choosing him, because the speech was to the point, although I didn't watch it all but I listened to the highlights of it.

I hope and believe Obama will be a good change but he can't do it a lone.. I hope though that he keeps going the way he say he would and the way it now looks he is going and that he keeps setting a good example toward the politicians from the rest of the world.. Let's face it Obama will have enormous problems to deal with.. The economic crisis, the crisis in Gaza, the Iraqi war, the war in Afghanistan.. Health care, the failing school system.. He will need all the help he can get but I think he has the right attitude towards "enemies" and friends so I have confidence he will bring change..

To continue with what Jen said, Obama indeed will have to face many problems during his stay at office. And decisions do not exclusively depend on him; they have to be taken by many other politicians, whether at Congress, or Secretaries, etc. There are very high expectations for Obama and I'm afraid he will not fulfil them all. By this I mean I am quite sure he will do a great job, but maybe not as BIG as some people hope it to be. Hopefully my hunch is wrong!

So what do you think about Obama's progress so far? Has he kept his word, is he making the change he said he would? In other words has he been doing a good job so far?
Personally I think that he has been keeping his word and that he's been trying to make the change he promised. But it's too early to see that change in concrete results. I do think that his attitude adressing issues and approaching them has been very positive and it's what needed to make that change. So I think he's doing a pretty good job so far and my hopes that he will make good on his promises have been solified in my opinion.
But I'm curious to see what you guys think!

Well I think he has had a lot to work on because of the last 8 years He has done a fantastic job, I think, but there also are some important issues that he needs to address. Pros (Good things that have happened ;D)- The Economy: Right after he got elected, Obama started working on a massive economic stimulus plan, similar to the one FDR in the 30s, and economists say that the recession is starting to re-bound and the economy is showing descent signs. - Restabilizing America's Image: His speeches in Cairo (this morning) and in other places in the Middle East this far show his commitment to this issue. Also, there have been many other times when they are "reaching out" to other countries, and international cooperation is much more publicized here since Bush has left! - Ending Torture: This has been an important step, including the closing of the Guantanamo Bay Prison and the release the important memos from decisions that were made to use torture several years ago. He has made this an important issue and the results are showing with more international respect from other countries! - Alternative Energy: The massive stimulus package has promised to create thousands of new "green jobs" and alternative energy projects. Cons (Still needs to work on)- Wars in Iraq/Afganistan: While Obama has raised troop levels in Afganistan, Obama needs to focus on pulling out of those two wars, and making this issue more important on his agenda. - Healthcare Reform: Obama has promised healthcare reform during the campaign trail (and is working on it), and Congress has debated it for weeks. However, this process needs to speed up so more Americans have access to affordable health care for themselves and their families. - Justice in Darfur: While this is definately not a top priority for the Obama administration, they need to find a solution to bring justice to the criminals who allowed the Darfur Genocide to happen.
