Hello I'm new here. And I'll be glad to write an article for you on a Health and Environmental Club which some friends and I created back in college and which has now become a motivating force for the youths here in Mauritius.

Hey Zach! Can you please tell me when will the next issue of the YFCI Member newsletter be published? Will it be March or April?
I think we need to fix and specify the months for the publication of our newsletter, so that it is convenient for prospective writers and contributors to the newsletter. If we know when publication is due, we'll be better prepared to contribute to it.Thanks.

Today only, I saw the post in the YFCI blog wherein you had written about submissions to the member magazine. The last date for submissions has been fixed as 10th of February, 2007.But I feel its too early.I mean, we need to give more time to people. And since, Jan - March is exam time in most places, esp., in India. So how are we going to make the time for writing? It'll be difficult. So I was thinking, can we please postpone the date for submissions? And please answer my question in my previous post - When will the magazine be published? In the beginning of April?Mid April?Or, the last week of April? And yes!In the previous issue of our member magazine, it was mentioned that from the next issue, we'll have another feature called the "Featured Country", and this section will have facts, statistics, articles/poems, photos etc. from the particular country featured. So please tell me, which country will be the featured country in the next issue?Have you and the editor decided upon it or should we discuss it in the forums? And who's going to be the featured ambassador for the next issue? I know that's quite a lot of questions! ;)But please do answer the questions that can be answered at the moment. Thanks!

But there are many spelling mistakes in the entire section. Please correct them. On the whole, it looks good and you're getting a karma from me!

Oh and yes!I was just thinking that you should add the Member Newsletter Topics document to the website of YFCI Member Magazine.Just make a "Guidelines for Submissions" section on that website.
Also include the following text from the blog post about the Member Magazine in the form of submission guidelines:
For Members only - We ask for country reports and articles from interested members. Their contribution to the magazine, in a way shows their commitment to the YFCI goals and makes them eligible for ambassadorship.
Country report might be in the form of a report or article describing particular aspects of one's country, for example:-
Education System Economic Situation Culture Youth Empowerment and activities Millennium development goals War and Conflict Governance Human Rights Health Environment Conservation Religious Fundamentalism and Extremism
The above topics are not exhaustive and the members can write about country specific problems and activities which they want to share with other members.
The most well researched article will be put up on the “Featured Article” section.
Members can also send in their resume and a brief one page write up about themselves or any other member they wish to nominate for the position of “Featured Member”. A member with an impressive record in community building and development activities or personal achievements will be selected for the position.
Special Note - In case you are not a member, but still wish to submit a report on your country; even then your submissions are welcome, though we encourage you to join us anyway.
For members & non-members alike - If you have an imaginative bend of mind then you can all pen down poetry, short stories, haikus or articles for the magazine.
Art & Photography (for both members & non-members): You can also send your paintings. The only requirement is that the topic should be keeping in terms with YFCI magazine frame.
We also encourage budding photographers to submit their photos. We are looking for interesting clips which capture something unique about their respective countries. It could be anything from traditional dance, nature, people celebrating a festival etc. Come up with something exciting!!!
Send all the submissions to - yfci_editor@yahoo.com
This is how it ought to look like. This will add a punch to the member magazine site! What do you think of my idea?
By the way, our magazine's name is Alpha so why don't you mention "Alpha - The YFCI Member Magazine" everywhere? Why just "Member Magazine"??
