We can join together with other groups, like the ONE Campaign.. as far as povery globally. For poverty here, we can volunteer by going to homeless shelters.

I agree with Zach... we must spend our free time sensibly and understanding that we must do sth for "our neighbour".....
We can at least sign petitions of many organisations, like Avaaz.org ..... and give money to organisations like ActionAid or Unicef or Doctors of Hearts that prove their work....

As teenagers, we also have the power to inspire our elders to make a difference. I know that many adults admire nothing more than a teenager doing things for the community, locally or globally. We should harness this potential power and aim to increase adult involvement in such things.

Definately. There are so many opportunities, especially for youth in the U.S. (many whom don't care at all), for us to change the world and make our mark. Planning Rallys. Marching. Writing Letters. Calling Congress. Etc. Etc. Etc.!

Well it is my belief that things change because of one person in most cases. For one second about it think about how Rosa Parks is th eone who started the large movement of the bus. THese are things we have to take in consideration because it one of the most important thing. So I encourage you if you would like change or assist in anyway begin with you trying to make a difference and there will come more to follow behind you..

Hey I just saw this thread, here's what I published for Travis: aspire2inspire-viva.blogspot.com/2008/07/what-do-we-do-to-approve-our-world.htmlAnd well, what can we do to help fight poverty? It's a very good question. I think we can donate money to orgs we trust, like UNICEF, or any orgs in your community that you trust. I mean that's a very simply, yet important way. That's what I can think of at the moment.

Definitely agree with darkme. UNICEF is wonderful charity. Badically get involved anyway possible is a good start. I am now 22 years old. I wish I had of found something like this when I was an actual teen. Doing work just like creating Youth For Change is a positive start. Creating youth awareness. Awareness in general goes along way. Be it youth or adults.
Another suggestion is to post links to YFCI onto your Myspace, facebook or whatever you use. Post advocacy banners. If you can get one persons attention, then you will have likely started a chain.

I definitely agree tha we should donate money to charities and other organisations but I think we should begin with our "neighbours". There are so many people out there...next to us begging for our help and mercy....We should help them first!!!
