So I wanted to ask, since there are a lot of Spanish speaking countries do words vary from a country to another? cuz Lucia taught me something but it was like only said in Argentina. Is there something like you're taught as a 'formal Spanish' that like everybody would understand? my question is kinda vague i know

Well, every country definitely has its good range of slang! For my part, I always use "broder", that comes from the English "brother" and is used like "duuuude" . However, in some countries there are big differences, like in Argentina. Instead of employing "tú" for "you", they use "vos", while most of the other countries use the former. They also put the stress in another syllable of a word. Or they even change the word, like with "corregir" (correct). ¿Lo co rriges? (can you check it? - Common Spanish) ¿Lo corre gís? (means the same, but the word is different!) So there you go, most countries only differ with some slang, but in cases like Argentina and Spain, there are big changes in the words .
