Hi guys, I hope you answer the poll especially those who are coming from developing countries. This is for a comparison between fundraising in developed countries and developing countries. You may also want to explain your answer. Thank you.

My vote: Yes because i rily think everything counts, no matter how small it is. Like say here in Oman at schools we raise funds for alota stuff, like kids who wanna have a surgery but can't afford it, and we raise funds for those in need at our schools in Eids and different occasions.... and I dare say it really helps!!!

hmm.. fundraising is really a great way to help others and especially other organizations The thing is that you don't really know if your money really help those organizations or not. For example in my country, many money you send don't go to poor people or children I don't know what to vote... is Greece considered to be a developing country or a developed one? Propably the first...

I voted yes, even though I come from an Industrialized country. I believe in the power of change, and international grassroots change in developing country only comes from charities that people have access to. It's kind of hard to send a bunch of things to a foreign country/continent without funds to do so.
Nice thread!

Thanks guys for your reply. Last year, in a conference, we talked about how to "find" money or funds for women's movement. There are different strategies, especially if a young leader would want to participate in an international event and is unable to do so due to the lack of funds. So I'm thinking that strategies that work well in the Global North, may not work in the Global South and so there should be another means, or creative way to look for funding. Culture is an important factor and Filipinos (as far as I know) are not very vocal about the things that they want or need. For a lot of people, it is an embarrassment to ask...you know what I mean. So I am thinking about new strategies that can be applied. Fund is a very important tool to strengthen movements and to empower the less empowered.
