The Religion's Dilemma
Sometimes it goes through my mind if religion is either handy, vital or perjudicial.
Vital - The world could not move without religion and their moral code. If we analyse the laws, you get to jail for violating a moral code. And these comes from religion. Religion could be the base of past, present and modern society.
Handy - Not big deal. It's just there, let it stay. Doesn't make any changes. There are those religious campaigns that make poor ppl happy for a moment but still poverty, hunger and margination is not solved at all, we are just adding another aid-band to the problem.
Perjudicial - As stated before, we should heal the problem, not try to hide it or add anestesias. Even if it is not the most ethical way the consequences will outweight our actions. Religion in poor countries is an indirect state of fear and esclavization. Apart from the forced 10% tax (you pay taxes for being a believer oh common that's so ****) thus if you work for any charity institution or religious institution they often tell you "Do not charge God". Many priests enter to restaurants or do many stuff without paying with that silly statement and many workers suffer because of this abuse, such as my grandma, a strong believer on God, not on his sons. She got angry and yelled at them "Well, even if you come from God you're still using this service and you must pay, I'm a worker and I need money" She's not the only one being abused by priests. I have also encountered in my childhood a pedophile priest who used to confess me. It kinda bugged me the way he touched me and thanks god I stopped believing for a momment (yeah, kinda weird to thank god for that )and did not return to that tiny room.
What I hate about Christianisms are all of these abuses. Dun get me wrong, I do believe in a God but I do not believe in a system of believing carried on by human beings. Sure power corrupts like hell
