Today I have done the same exact thing I have been doing for the last 2 months: Waking up in Cold Bay Alaska (Yes... Cold Bay... Alaska...) and looking out the window to see if I haven't magically transported to Puerto Vallarta or Belize or anywhere else closer to Mexico than to Siberia. As I was saying though, I wake up at 9am every day and hop on my Ski Doo (Snowmobile for you non Englishers) and take the 2 miles down to the Weather service at an average speed of about 40 miles and hour. At the station, I pick up whatever information needs to be updated on the website for those in the air or on the seas. Sometimes I will take this information straight home and update it right away if it's urgent, but usually I'll stop by the Bearfoot Inn which is also a grocery and get whatever I want for the day. My receipt from this morning tells me that I purchased bacon, non-alchoholic egg nog, rolling papers, stamps, ice, and moodwood kindling. Then I'll go back to my little one room cabin and either work or make food or fall back asleep or go on the internet and screw around depending on what's needed of me and/or whatever I want to do at the moment. Sometimes I'm amazed I'm being paid this well to sit in a cabin in the middle of no where drinking and talking to my friends back home on my laptop, but then I remember that I'm in Cold Bay Alaska (Yes. Cold Bay. Alaska) in the middle of December and then it all makes sense. I haven't seen a good looking girl in over two months. I haven't even seen a girl under forty since I've been up here, not including one of my friend up heres 18 month old baby that he brings to the bar when his wife is working.
The bar I speak off is almost smaller than my little cabin, and is open 3-4 days a week depending on the conditions and time of year. I usually go there a couple times of day after I check in with the weather service just to see if anyone is in. Usually no one is but I'll drink if it is passed 2 and then go home and check the internet again, to check message boards or see what my friends are up to back home.
I have to get updates from the weather service 4 times a day; once at 9:30, once at noon, once at 2:30, and once at 5. From 5 to when I fall asleep, I am free to do exactly what I want. This includes, drinking lots of Whiskey, making snow angels, lifting weights, leaving insulting voice mails on my friends answering machines, typing random stuff on the internet, and standing really close to my stove fire. Needless to say, this is the loneliest part of the day for me right now, and I couldn't imagine a lonlier situation to be in. That isn't to say that it's all bad, and sometimes I enjoy the solitude. I knew what I was getting into when I took the job, and I am after all getting paid for my boredom. And I have been reading a lot, but that isn't anything new. My writing is suffering because I write from what I know, not what I imagine I know, and it's hard to live out subject matter when you're alone in a cabin. Not that my notebooks aren't filled with such stories as it is, I just don't have any inspiration to make them genuinely good. So for the time they will fall into the mental masturbation category; the same thing I'm engaging in while I write this, and for you while you read it.
It is currently 6:55 right now, and in another five minutes a high wind advisory will begin, one which I knew was coming two hours earlier when I updated it on the website. Last night a blizzard hit pretty hard, but it's warmed up considerably since then, but I am still hugging the fire. I'm a little inebriated right now with whiskey and cokes and I think I've been typing for ages. Tonight I'll probably drink the bottle of cheap champagne my ex-gf sent me all wrapped up as a joking sort of Christmas present. I still have 2 presents to open from my best friend in California, and one more from my parents as well. It's so boring up here that I thought I would stretch Christmas out for three days. Sorry Jesus!
Yesterday was the strangest, most alone Christmas I've ever had. It was kind of a cool feeling though. I'll never forget it at least.

worked today, lots of exitement over there at the end of my day..There was this guy they've been following for a couple of weeks now because he always tries to steal something and today my supervisor walked behind while he was in the store (apparentely) and when they reached my counter he didn't buy or steal anything btw.. He started yelling and became really agressive.. after he was gone I started to laugh a little because I was really nerves, it's so weird when I'm really nerves in a bad way, like I know something bad is going to happen or has happend and it's guaranteed I'll start to laugh or at least smirk.. Anyways he kept on yelling and it was a little scary he was really agressive and threatening and after he left but he kept on muttering apparentely he's tried to steal often all around town, in several grocery stores.. Anyways other than that I just had some weird costumers and some nice ones.. This customer was asking me if I was glad my shift was almost over I told her I really was hehehe she was there when the guy started to yell lol.. I had to laugh smirk the entire time afterwards .. I just couldn't help myself my poor supervisor I really felt bad for her, she's a bit scary herself though .. That was my day, I'm really tired right now think I'll go to bed early tonight..

I second what Zach said But it must be fun working in a shop, you get to interact with alot of people, and such. I mean of course you'll have annoying people, and nice people too. I'd love to work someday lol, I mean it must be good to actually earn your own money and not always having to take money from your parents right?? For me, I woke up at 10am and watched some tv, the oscars nominations were announced. I was happy to see George Clooney nominated. But the sad news was that I just read that Heath Ledger died yesterday, what a pitty. I liked him a lot. They still don't know why he died, maybe an over-dose of sleeping pills. It just doesn't seem understandable that he'd commite suicide.

they said he had lumonia.. or how ever you spell that.. So I think it might actually be a mistake overdosis,,
It's ok working there most co workers are nice and such it's just my supervisor who isn't very friendly to say the least.. And it's a little hectic at times, you're in charge of a lot of money... But it;s all right.. I'm thinking of quiting though and I'm searching for a different job..

Today was nice, we had an outing with some family friends to this cave here near Nizwa, it's called Cahf Al-Hoota. It's a really big one. I've been there before so it was my second visit. Then we went to this place that's full of rocks and mountains and banana trees. It was really cool. And we went walking on rocks and stuff. A true adventure Hope everyone had a nice day
