Okay, so... you and me, we are all here because we want to make a difference.
I'm new to the organization, maybe the newest member at the moment this post is posted. I'm concerned about the world as much as you do, and I want to do something for the world as much as you want to.
I guess in YFC we are really doing something. But are we actually changing the world in one or another way?
Poetry is nice, and so are posters. But they need to be known to more people than ourselves, and more than that needs to be done. Don't take me wrong, I don't have anything against poetry and posters. I write a lot, i draw and paint a lot, I compose a lot, and my friends call me an artist. But for the sake of results, I simply think that they are not enough.
I don't mean that we need to stop what we are doing, but we need to spread it and expanse it. Some of the suggestions are :
- the E-Z coffee. We have members from more than 43 countries, if I'm not mistaken. And although I'm from Vietnam and signed up as Vietnamese, I'm living and studying in Costa Rica...so you can add Costa Rica to the list. Let's make the E-Z coffee a global event. In every wednesday of July and August, let's all open the coffee stand where you live.
- Currently I'm working on a project to re-open Teen World News. For those of you who know what the site is about, I hope you can help. For you who don't, it was an online publication that involved amateur/professional correspondents from many countries in the world, to write about everything existing. Although there are many such sites, one thing I really liked about TWN was : it's really where all teens can speak up, other teens can listen, and it's international. As a part of the improvement, once I've gathered a number of former correspondents, re-opened the site and become well-known again, I can host all of YFC's publications, announcements, etc. It will take a while, but I think it worths the efforts.
Please let me know your opinions
Thank you
