Personally .... no I am not for it, each country has their own idnentity, their own things that make it unique and globalisation will just make us all same and all.

i think globalsiation has negatives and positives. I use internet and messenger a lot so thats a positive for me and im able to make contact with youth right around the world who share similar passions as myself, so thats great.
But as the world prgresses it is leaving half of the world behind who simply cannot afford to upgrade and the time they can afford it something new shall come along.

every country needs progress and we can;t just ignore the need for globalization. there's no doubt about that. the only thing we can do is to control and to limit any exploitation being done as a result of this phenomenon.

Yes globalization is important as it breaks the barrier and link people together .. the use of internet speeds up the movement .. we are able to know about other countries' news and stuff .. Bring in foreign fashion and technology .. But indeed there are negatives stuff that are brought in which may be deviant in different countries. Like the more open style in the West with the more conservative style in the East. The fear of losing the societies' own identity is there. Such as McDonaldization in many countries. Well, the negative sides need to be taken care of other than enjoying the gains..

Although, third world countries like my country is badly affected by globalization, we can't help it. So we might as well think of ways that can make globalization more advatageous for small, developing or under-developed countries. Information dissemination like this is a good effect of globalization. Globalization should also help lessen the atrocities among countries if we are using it in a more positive way.

we are all citizens of our own country's i believe that we should have some sort of loose international Government, i believe that each country should always operate free of itself!!!

I am going to play the devil advocate. In ways globalization is wrong because each country need to have the right to lead in there own personal way. At times we want to harmonize as not just a country but we like to work internationally. The U.N is where the culture get together and meet that wants to lead us in the right direction. The in positive when Saddam Hussein was captured I could see the joy of people around that country why you say because they had a chance to be free from his dictatorship. Now I would say some what the U.S may run that country now but we perceive it to be more of a democracy for the people around us and help them gain the knowledge that we have and other country teaching us to understand there religions and way of living.

well... hmmm.... youa re right up to a point.... each country has its own identity and so on... but have you ever thought about the positive sides of globalization? More nations will cooperate with each other so there wouldn't be so many conflicts between them!... We can combine globalizaton with the identity of each country, which is - I totally agree- unique... a nation survives when the people of this nation want that nation to survive... sing the national anthem and understand their tradition....

I've been thinking about this for a long while... U know, Europe has the European Union to rely on... It's like one of the best economical systems ever . So, how is it that there are no other unions like these? I mean, all Latin America could unite in a "Latin American Union", the Middle East, too, dunno... Or with globalization we may just lose our geographical frontiers and unite as a super-massive-enormous world ... But I don't know if this would be the best... Oh well, just throwing some random ideas to the thread!

Cool Idea. I think that would be great if we could have something like that here in North America. Well.. there is the United Nations, but not all of my government agrees with the U.N.
Just my two bits.
