ever been beaten by a teacher? ever been himulated in front of the whole class?
what do u think r the boundries of teachers? and how do u think hitting a child in school affects his life/studies?
do teachers have any right to hit a child because the child is careless to their studies?
and wat do u think wud happen if the student tried to take a stand?
is it the students fault since they don't study? or shud it be a free will that whether students study or not?
I know alota questions... if you have any personal experince plz share it with us.

Never been beaten it's illegal to beat a child in my country and I think that's a very good thing no-one has the right to hit someone not even teachers the only thing they teach by that is how to solve something with violence... Anyways I do have a teacher right now who's been picking on me this year ever since we started like in immediately at the first day, she does this thing where she's playing air guitar and than she'ssort of singing Jenny, Jenny, Jenny :S she knows I find it annoying 'cause I asked her once if she could not do that and further she always makes stupid jokes about me luckily a good friend of mine is in that class as well and she makes comments back to her, 'cause at times like that I'm at a loss for words.. She's horrible.. My friend had troubles at home with her mother and she doesn't show emotion and she's always tough and all that but you could clearly see she was sad and the teacher just kept provoking till it came to the point that either my friend would leave volunteerly or that the teacher would kick her out so she's a real b**** (excuse my french, that's what she teaches ) But further I have (had) some really nice teachers as well like my former form teacher she was really nice...

that's horrible... I know how teachers sumtimes get on ur nerves.. I have a teacher who always keeps saying that I need to be attached to the Iraqi culture. it rily annoys me bcuz I dunno why she keeps doing that and I don't really care if she thinks I am attached to the Iraqi culture or not. wat matters is wat I believe... but again there r always those teachers who u like bcuz they teach u the lesson with passion and make u rily understand it....

Dear every1, I hope you spend nice times always, i know how sux is when sum1 get hitted but here in Egypt, although the hitting is illegal BUT No one care, it's like: hey i know it's illegal and I WILL DO IT", the proplem isn't from them, they do that because we are voicless, if every1 say NO , they won't do it at all, because of this, we now are willing to build up an organization called "students right" it's NOT about hitting in the school but it's related to all the rights that students should have!! what do u think?? Best wishes, Abdel Rhman Ahmed

I think that's a great idea.. People should just realize that by hitting someone you're learning them the wrong way to handle their future problems teachers do have a big influence on how students grow up (at least in elementry school and high school) Anyways it's a great idea you should go for it!

gr888 idea evil_slayer92... gud luk and anyways what do u think about teachers forcing their students to do things... like what subjects they want to pick, because this happened 2 my friend and it was because she chose a subject another teacher came n talked to her about it and asked why my friend chose that subject bcuz she didn't want my friend to choose that subject! and how much freedom do u think we shud be given in our schools? begining from uniforms to how much we say in the class??

today ***esor in my essay about teachers told me that teaching is considered one of the most dangerous professions (ranking 2nd or 3rd). This is because you live on adrenaline. He also told me statistics state that when a teacher retires at age 65, they rarely manage to live up to age 70. Most of them die young. He told me that he plans on retiring early and recovering the usual amount of adrenaline. Somehow I understood that your life goes faster when teaching. I found this particulary interesting so i decided to share it with you.
But to beat up a student? Well, a teacher sure's a human being and humans do have emotions they must control but up to what certain point can he be calm and patient? There are serious tauntings and mockings that would set anybody furious. I think we should not only say 'poor student, he got beaten up' but also try to understand the teacher and why he/she did it. And if there was no particular logical reason then they'd be guilty.
I think that the responsibility remains on the behaviour or both teacher and student. Somehow the student has got a considerable advantage by stating that he or she is not mature enough to know what they are doing but it is the job of the teachers to open up their eyes
Edit: why was a s s e s o r censured? Just because it said 4ss? O.ó I've never noticed it until now, lol

hey, very interesting... I think u do have a point but is beating a student the right thing to do if the student said/ did something wrong? I think not, because therez other punishments that wudnt teach the student violent is the right answer to problems! like detention, or giving them extra homework and such! I dunno if I can handle being a teacher... I am so impatient, I mean I know I wudnt hit them or such but I dunno if I wud turn out to be a good teacher we have to appreciate our teachers who teach us stuff but again sometimes I feel we need more freedom of expressing our opinions! here's a minus karma 4 u!

I've never been beaten, but it sucks I guess :S. But yes I had some discussions about things that I believe (and I have reasons). In my grade there are also people that has arguments all the time with the teachers - without any reasons, only to waste time. In that case, I understand teachers going crazy and telling 'shut up, what you are saying does not make any sense', because one thing is clear: teachers don't have the truth, but we, by the way, neither. Good thread

I think teaching is a very noble job but I have few things to say about it, I mean if you became a teacher eventually you'll get bored, you know, because you're teaching the same things or maybe the same people! and if you want to keep learning, from who you'll learn? from the people you're supposed to be teaching! I'm not saying that's bad or anything, it's just that this would limit your knowledge in one subject and it would limit your way of thinking! I mean teachers here (some) always want to show us that they know more! and when they ask a Q, and we don't know the answer they'd go like: "oh no1 knows the answer? it's easy! just think about it" then what we're doing, we're thinking! so what if we don't know the answer, enlighten us please!!! no offence to all the teachers in the world, except some!

THE FIRST QUESTION THAT COMES TO MIND IS: DOES A TEACHER JUST WAKE UP AND START SPANKING A KID? MUCH AS MOST OF US HAVE OUTGROWN TEACHERS USING CANES ON US, WE SHOULD ALSO APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT SOME STUDENTS REALLY DO NOT WANT TO LEARN UNTILL THEY SEE THE CANE HONESTLY. Though I am not holding brief for teachers I believe a student should chose his/her subject herself. At any point the teacher interfers, the student should report to either school management or seek help from the school counsellor. Though I am quite sure that teachers should not interfer in students choice of subjects. The Holy Bible also tells us "spare the rod and spoil the child". The pride of the teacher is to see any of his students become either a presisent, member of parliament or a huge success. Yes some go to the extremes but do we expext them to watch us stray?
