a 15 year old girl committed sucide??? WOW!! why would she do that? I have seen the video and nothing was disturbing about it! I just think that people are starting to see Saddam as sum1 who has been misjudged and that all of his crimes have been earsred from the minds of people.... and then seriously what is done is done, nothing can be done now, it is amazing how the lives of thousands of Iraqis are so cheap and that those who Saddam killed now are nothing and that Saddam is a hero to people!

But I suppose someone else didn't like my post, hence it got edited or to put it clearly, got removed.I just have one thing to say, that whatever I wrote in that post was the truth and removing the post or modifying or editing it, won't change the truth. Its not just me who thinks like that, most of the world thinks on the same lines when it comes to Bush and his policies. Dear Anu, I am deeply sorry about this. I clicked "Modify" instead of "quote". It was my accident, and I am deeply sorry about the whole thing. I tottally agreed with you, it was just my mistake. Your karmas are the same as before, with the 2 karmas (I did not smite your karmas). Well I hope you accept my apology.. Its perfectly alright, provided it was actually an accident and not a deliberate move.No need to say sorry. Its not a big issue. Good to know you agree with me.I know you didn't smite my karmas, since the number of my karmas was intact.I didn't even know whether it was you or someone else who edited the post.I had only asked the person (who deleted my post) to take away my karmas as well, in case he/she didn't like what I had written there. I was angry only because I felt that there was no reason to delete my post since I had not said anything offensive or used any foul language in my post, but even then it was deleted.I thought, my right to freedom of expression was taken away from me....so I lost my temper.I hope you understand. No problem, your apology has been accepted!

Yes its true, that a 15 year old girl committed suicide since she was upset over what happened to Saddam. That is the point Noor. The thing is that the way Saddam was treated during the trial and the last moments before his execution, has evoked sympathy for him from people all over the world.People have begun to look at him as a martyr, as a victim. People feel that Saddam was "a hero who dared to stand against the US and who did not give in even in the face of death."The sympathy over his treatment before his execution has replaced the disgust over his crimes.

Really? I had not heard this.. the american media is so pathetic. They highlight stupid things like the new fashions or the holiday rush. Who cares how much money we spent on the holidays?

That's the thing. Few kids imitated the death of Saddam and got killed imitating. Its the nature of kids as we all know, they like to imitate. Anyway, a man like Saddam has the kind of aura to attract people to imitate. Even when he was in power, a few imitated him, trying to be the kind of leader he was and so on.
The death of Saddam is for me relevant. But i cant understand, why the hell do they want to kill him on eid's day. Why the hell do they want to publish his photo of dying? Why the hell were there photographers at the place he was hanged? A man is facing death alone, and they want the whole world to face the man. What an insult!
Maybe they want the world to know that Saddam is dead by showing the pictures of executioning. Cant it be done by just an announcement and not with pictures? or movies?

You're absolutely right Amar. The very same questions are in every person's mind.Saddam was not just executed - he was insulted and humiliated both before and after his hanging. You're right, they could've made an announcement that Saddam is officially dead. What was the need to flash the photos and videos of the executioning all over the print and electronic media?? Like I was saying, it is this very treatment which has converted him into a martyr, a hero in the eyes of people.Making a video of a person dying....its ridiculous and gruesome. No one deserves that, no matter how many and how serious crimes he/she has committed.

Really? I had not heard this.. the american media is so pathetic. Yes its true. Each day, in India (I don't know about other countries), there are protests and marches organised to protest against Saddam's hanging.Iraq and India always had friendly relations, so even the Government here, is quite upset over this issue. The 15 year old girl who committed suicide, was from Calcutta (India). The debates and discussions over this are still going on in full swing.Public is still outraged. As far as the media is concerned, its useless to talk about it.We all know what job the media does.

We all know Saddam is not a hero. But the way he was given death, has raised him to the height of a martyr in the eyes of people.I know we aren't going to agree on this ever!

Yes. The thing is Noor, you may not think he is a hero, but what about the people who he is related to? Don't you think they consider him a hero? What about the sunnis? I've read that some of them have considered him a hero.
I guess we shouldn't forget about this one, we should learn from this mistake and make sure it doesn't happen again.

People have different views, and just because they differ from yours does not mean you can call them 'stupid'.
