Well i live on the West Coast of Australia.
whats it like??? Besides kangaroos, emus, echidnas and so on. Its not too bad, the weather is different all over so it could be sunshine or terrential rain.
The govt in my opinion is not doing enough in reguards to aid especially in sub-sahara africa. It tend only to invest in countries that have strong economics ties with us. Its spends way to much for the war in iraq.
Youth- well not enough care about issues. There are many youth organisations but not a larger enough members base to be seen and heard to make a huge impact.
Theres always an ongoing problem with Indigenous Australians and minority groups. Either through lack of services or discrimination from public.
I believe that shall be enough for me, as theres other from Australia here as well.

Hi Stacey, and all YFCI peoples! Im also a STIRRER and thats why I'm here too. I live on the east coast. I also agree that our government is not doing enough with regards to foriegn aid. But it is up to us, as the next generation to ensure that the governmnet is more responsible about this in the future. Forums such as this one and obviously stir are really important in changing attitudes and giving young people direction so that we can make the changes that need to be made. But I love australia, as much as I'll critisise its government and people. enough from me Jemma

Hi Stacey! Im from South East QLD (level 5 water restrictions wahoo....), and I think your right. Our goverment really needs a change in leadership, Howard isn't doing anything for us anymore. The IR laws were supposed to improve work conditions but instead, they made them worse. We do need to increase foregin aid budgets too, I don't think our government realises how important an issue poverty really is. Another thing that I think our country lacks is the global warming issue. Us and America are the only 2 countries not to sign the UN Kyoto agreement, and we are just not doing enough to improve enviromental standards in Australia. I guess we should wait for the next election to see who will take up the leadership role. (Personaly I hope it's Kevin Rudd) That, or wait for our generation to step up and really make the change!

Hey stirrers.. im jen from stir also!!
Im in Victoria, which is having the water problems also.... there isnt too much of a publicised indigenous problem in vic, but it is a national problem, but as we know John Howard recently announced the task force to go up to the NT to try and solve some of the problems...

what I know is that they make heavy university propaganda and run programs such as 'Study in Australia' offering scholarships. They've made a lot of these campaigns at my school.
