I don;t know, I think the Netherlands went backwards when they joined the EU because we put a lot of money in it (more than other countries in the EU) and we get little in return.. The euro was bad for our countries economics, it may be good for other european countries but not for ours thats for sure..

hmmm.... you are right about Euro... before Euro we had Drachmas (100 drachmas=340,75 Euros)... and things were cheaper. You could buy a loaf of bread with 500 drachmas and now you can't buy a loaf of bread with 3 Euros (1000 drachmas)..... As for Greece, we are now receiving our last big amounts of money... in some years we are going to be like your country Jenny... we will give a lot and we will receive a few... but .. I think that it's sth fair... shouldn't poorer countries develop like the others in the Union? Shouldn't the members be equal economically? ....Thanx for replying Karma

yeah but not at the expens of us I mean there are so much more people who live under the poverty line in my country right now than before the euro it's nuts.. We're not doing as great as people think we do especially in my part of the country.. I'm all for equality but the facts are that we're losing a little to much right now..
