I thought of a new series we can have in this forum. How about every couple weeks we have one question about life in your country, and members can explain the question in their country.
Here's The First One: Are there any important industries or brands made in your country/region/city?
Once we get enough posts, then we'll switch to a different topic.

What do you mean by important? Is in, they are well known, household names, that everybody knows? Or they are names that everyone knows as a good responsible company?
Here in Oregon, we have Nike and Intel. Just up north in Washington, there is Boeing and Microsoft.

Well, not exactly important, but something that everyone would know.
Here in Wisconsin, we have Miller Beer (soon to be taken over by Coors Light), Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Northwestern Mutual, Kohl's Department Store and Johnson Controls.

Here (in the middle east) mostly it's foreign brands but the production is in here! and each country has their own brands.. so there are a lot of brands, can't mention them, because I'm sure there isn't any that you know. famous brands here I'm sure you've heard of or know them: pringels chips, mars candy bar, tide, kit-kat, .....

It's funny how people's perception's of different countries cultures can be so backwards. I've had so many stupid friends who have dreamed of going to Amsterdam for the Red Light district, despite my telling them that after a night or two there they'd probably be bored and doing lame touristy stuff.
Out of curiosity, what percentage of Dutch aged 12-50 use marijuana? Not looking for a scientific response, just your best guesstimate.
I guess amazed that you have been able to walk by the cafe's enough times in your life and still haven't patronized them. Don't get me wrong, I think that it's great, I just want to know if you are are the exception to the rule or the standard bearer for mot Dutch.

I think most people have tried it at least once but I know plenty of people who never went there or tried drugs.. I think probably more people here do drugs and go to these coffeeshops than in other countries, I couldn't say how many exactly but I think the majority of the people here have tried it.. In every social layer...

There are plenty popular tourist destinations in my country.. For example... Rhodes(Historically, Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site.) and Crete (Crete is a location of significant ancient history and a popular tourist destination; its attractions include the Minoan sites of Knossos and Phaistos, the classical site of Gortys, the Venetian castle at Rethymno, and the Samaria Gorge, as well as many other natural sites, monuments, and beaches. Crete was the centre of the Minoan civilization (ca. 2600–1400 BC), the oldest form of Greek and hence European civilization. ) are some of the islands that have many tourists every year.. and then.. Athens... with the Acropolis and the Changing of the Guards.. For Rhodes... visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RhodesFor Crete.... visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CreteFor Athens ... visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AthensFor general touristic infos, visit the site of the Ministry of Tourism www.gnto.gr/

My little and Beautiful country is on the way of development . Here is social problem , which is typical of development countries , but i hope that Georgia will be successful very soon . Here are new programs , new businesses . . . Georgia is famous of it's wine . Georgia is the oldest wine producing region of the world . Because of this, it is often referred to as "The birth place of wine" . Many also believe that the etymology of the word wine comes from the Georgian word for wine - gvino . Here are many interesting places , historical churches , fortresses and buildings . . . Which are visited by many tourists .

Hi Mari, welcome to the forums! My name is Victoria and I'm from Peru. Georgia sounds like a very interesting country; what else can you tell us about its history? I think it was annexed to the USSR for a long time, am I right? Anyways, hope you keep on posting on YFCI . Take care!
