Hey All.
I've been thinking about our annual online celebration; celebrating YFCI's Founding Week (this year = 2 years!). What does everyone think we could do?
Well, I think we could re-introduce the chatrooms. Proboards (our messageboard provider) has chatrooms now that are on the forum, and you use your username to log in. What to you think?

Yep. That's what I was thinking also. The only thing is; not everyone has Java Well. I guess we would have to push people to download it then. Thanks Jen!

If you do chat rooms, make sure to have some easy links or another way to post the chat room conversation to the message board so those that are involved in the debate, don't get left out.

Here's what I thought, we could do to celebrate our Founding Week:
- We could release a new issue of ALPHA.
- Add a special countdown or something decorative (that indicates celebration) on the website and blog. We added balloons and a countdown last time.
- Write a special post on YFCI Blog. Okay, we could create a thread that asks everyone what they would like to see accomplished through YFCI and another one that asks members to reflect on their journey as members of YFCI (tell us how has been your experience being at YFCI, how being at YFCI has changed/influenced you or your beliefs and such like things). Then we can compile the responses in these threads to make a special post for anniversary of YFCI.
- Please create some special "Celebrating YFCI's 2nd Anniversary" banner which members can display on their blogs, websites and profiles.
- Update the groups and communities informing people of the Founding Week celebrations.
- Make a list of the achievements (no matter how small or big) of YFCI and its members. Put it up on the blog, member communities and website.
- Discuss future aims and course of YFCI.
- Send a congratulatory message to everyone who's been a part of YFCI.
- If possible, declare the results of BTCA finally! Display and award the winners!
- Introduce and appreciate new members and partners (that we've had in the past 1 year) who've become an active and integral part of YFCI either in the mag, or on the website or blog.
- Lastly, put up an acknowledgements page on the website like last year, thanking and appreciating the role of various people behind the growth and existence of YFCI. Maybe, give them karmas or special certificates too if possible.
That's all I could think of as of now. More later, perhaps.
Thanks!

Ok, finnally my thoughts:
I think your ideas are just wonderful! We will do all of those things on your list, thanks Anu for putting it together. We need to get started NOW. Fouding Week is just a week and a half away. I'll start with the founding week page on the website. We could also maybe launch the Promotion Video, I'll check with VOX to see if its near to being done.
Arun suggested that we also continue our old chat room (which was launched last year). This would actually be better than using the chat room that comes with our message board because users have to download Java Software, which can be difficult in some countries. We can add the chatroom to the bottom of the forum!
What do you guys think? Please pitch in! We need all of your help to make this a successful founding week!

I also think all the ideas given are great and should be implemented. Anyways, I still have to talk with Andrea about the Promotion Video, if we do it it would be done on Tuesday or Wednesday, because she is still in exams while I'm free, and she has the software . I will call her later on today, right now she is taking Chemistry Paper 3!

Thanks guys! Good that you liked the things covered in the list. We should get cracking as soon as possible! There's little time left... Meanwhile, I've made some edits in the YFCI Blog today. Hope you guys like it. If not, tell me and I'll change them accordingly. Zach, the changes you made on the main website regarding Founding Week, look gr8! Good work! To everyone else, please start helping out with the activities suggested for the Founding Week. Also, if you have a blog or website or some profile on a social networking website, then please post some fancy text or banner or countdown announcing Founding Week celebrations. I've posted a countdown on my Facebook Profile and updated my signature in the forums here. We need to show our support or participation in the Founding Week celebrations! It would be great if we could release our Promotion Video during the celebrations as well. Finally, some time ago, I had written an article about YFCI's progress, on Anu M's insistence, Zach, please check it out and let me know what latest info should I add to it to make it more contemporary. More later... Bye for now!

Thank you very much Anu for your hard work! I PMed many of the active members to write articles for the founding week. If you guys are reading this; can you please respond with your answer? I hope that we get this founding celebration INTO GEAR, and out of the PLANNING STAGE!
Thanks, Zach
