It's been almost 8-9 months since we conceived and announced the BTCA Program, but till now according to Huda (BTCA Representative), we have received only 6 entries. We might have received 1-2 more entries by now, but the program is not moving as fast as it should.
Many suggestions were offered in the July YFCI chat about promoting BTCA and getting more submissions. But after the chat we haven't decided anything and the issue still remains to be resolved. As the Judges' Chairperson, I'm concerned that what will the Judges' Committee judge, if there are so few entries??
Please guys, pitch in your ideas and tell us what to do! As of now, the BTCA and the Judges' Committee are stagnant!
Should we increase the prizes for BTCA? If so, how? Should we offer honorary (voluntary) positions to the winners as a part of their prize?Tell us, how to get BTCA moving!!

Hi Anu,
I'm not sure if I told you, but I wrote to several foundations asking for money for the prizes. I got a responce from the Ford Foundation, but we'll have to wait another month to find the results. I wrote to the "International Youth Foundation", and several other local foundations.
Just my two bits.

hey, I know you made a staff-only board, but the problem is that I'm not able to see it, I think so does Anu! because we should work on the rules!! we need to get going with the rules, and also I don't know what's wrong, why aren't people submitting stuff!!

Nope I don't see it! Like Huda said, even I can't understand why people aren't submitting anything!! And Zach, it's good that you wrote to several foundations about this, but funds and help will be of little use if we don't even have enough participants! I'm clueless about BTCA and its outcome as of now... I think we have waited long enough for the submissions and scratched our heads more than enough for this program! Therefore, in my opinion, we should conclude this year's BTCA with whatever entries we have - because we can't keep waiting the whole year for submissions. Let us publish and feature the entries we already have and give the entrants their certificates of achievement. It's bizzare that we announce the program last year and do not declare results until the next year! Let us make do with the submissions we have and stop this wait. Or we should just scrape the idea of BTCA altogether, until our org. gains a more firm footing and our members start becoming more active. Either close down BTCA or at least conclude it for this year (we'll then see what to do for next year). If we keep waiting indefinitely then the ones who've submitted already will feel that their work has gone in the wrong hands (they might feel cheated and ask us to return their work too). We have to quickly act on this!So what say? What to do?

Hi Anu!
I agree with you, this contest has not been very succesfull. I think it would be good if we do close it.. for now. Maybe we could relaunch it in the future. Its all up to you.. you represent the Judges. Ok! So, I guess now you and the judges need to see the submissions (Huda, I guess you send the submissions to Anu, and she will get them to the judges for the judging.), with the code.
Thanks! Zach
