Dear members and participants of YFCI Boards, As you all know by now, that we are trying to get a Quote Page together for the YFCI Member Opinion Tour at the YFCI website. Therefore, you're invited to have your say and contribute in this effort. You can choose and post in this thread, your favorite lines or quotes from all the posts here in the YFCI Boards. You can choose any of the lines/quotes (or entire posts) which you liked or the ones which in your opinion, really convey a lot about an issue or problem. Not only the posts in the YFCI Boards, you can even post your own thoughts about an issue/problem or those things that you've said or written by yourself, whether in a post at some discussion board or a blog etc. Please refrain from using the quotes from famous personalities or books or movies etc.We want to hear what you have to say, what you think, what are your thoughts and opinions, so please add your own voice here! Each one of you can post their favorite quotes/sentences in this thread, while the official supervision will go on side by side. After that, we'll compile the list, select the best quotes/lines, put them under their respective categories according to the issues they address and then finally put them up on the website. Your participation will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Anu.. could you come up with some sort of list in a word doc, since it was your idea? Hehe, if you could, that would be great. Thanks List? What kind of list are you talking about? We don't have enough quotes yet.Firstly all of you pick out your favorite lines from the members' posts in the boards, and post them here.Only then a list can be compiled. Why aren't you all picking and posting your favorite lines or your own personal thoughts? Tell me what kind of list you want me to come up with.I know it was my idea and only I have to bear the responsibility of executing it effectively!

Okay, I've picked the following quotes for the time being - "First and foremost, do not participate in activities that gear towards discrimination. Do not attempt to change people, just educate them or share your knowledge to them. Respect each other's differences. Do not force someone to believe in what you believe in. Be open to different possibilities. We do not understand a person, a culture, a religion, a race completely therefore we are in no position to judge them." - by hekatea in the "What to do against discrimination?" thread. "Children should be taught that we are classified in a race of human beings first, then in races that we originate from and that we're all people and that skin colour and language or anthing else that sets people different is just on the outside...." - by nairobian (a.k.a. Medha) in the same thread. And mine too! [From the same thread] - "I feel that the beliefs, traditions and customs that perpetuate and promote discrimination, must be questioned, debated and eventually done away with. Also, children must be taught to respect others irrespective of all differences. Before discriminating against others, we should first put ourselves in their shoes and imagine how it feels to be discriminated. We should stop following the society's traditions blindly and ask ourselves whether the step we're going to contemplate is right or wrong. " - by AK (a.k.a. Anupreet K.) Then Noor's quote in the same thread - "I think its about getting ppl's mind 2 b more open!! and 2 accpet being different and 2 learn about other ppl's backgrounds and stuff and 2 just talk 2 other ppl and c that they r no different from them!!!" (We'll correct it grammatically though!) I'll post more later. Thanks!

Those are all great. Just another idea, when we quote them on the page, we can link to their profiles here at the boards.

herez a quote that I love by nairobian :"Discrimination happens everywhere, specially in places like canada / US/ Australia/ UK where there are many immigrants. The immigrants are discriminated against because they are different but at times they refuse to change even a little bit to fit in, which can pose a serious problem.. "
